Participating in elections an act of treason: Geelani.

Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani while paying rich tributes to slain militant and youth in Chadoora and Kulgam on Tuesday, said these “brave-hearts” are facing a big power and lay their lives to end the “age-old slavery.

In a statement issued to GNA Geelani termed the killing of a civilian Khalid Ahmad Dar at Kulgam as “very unfortunate” and blamed the state administration, police and other government forces for “such brutal killings”. He said forces under a well thought-out plan are carrying out “bloodshed”.
In his telephonic address to mourners, Geelani urged people to boycott the upcoming Panchayat elections and said, *“A few people who vote in the election dramas were not only committing an act of treason but their actions also act as oxygen for India’s illegal control of Kashmir.”*

Hurriyat (G) chairman while referring to “pro-Indian” parties said they are well aware about the freedom sentiments of people, *“however they exploit these sentiments and deceive common people and their main aim is to get to power corridors.
